Watch Battery Replacement & Water Reproofing
A battery can run out at any time, so if your watch relies on one, we advise you to replace it within 24 months to keep it running smoothly.
A water-resistant timepiece will eventually lose its resistance, especially if it’s regularly used for diving, so be sure to bring it in to us for testing. Our watchmakers will replace your battery and reseal your watch, following five crucial steps:
- Replace the old battery, making sure it hasn’t leaked and damaged the movement.
- Examine the general condition of the movement, and check the consumption rate of the new battery.
- Renew all the sealing gaskets on the glass, crown and watch back, as well as the pusher seals for chronographs, if required.
- Test the watch’s water resistance in line with brand specifications, using specialist equipment.
- Check the timekeeping and make adjustments, if required.
We should point out that only the battery and reseal is covered by our 12-month guarantee. If the watch hasn’t been maintained to the manufacturer’s guidelines and serviced within the past three to five years, we cannot offer a guarantee on its future reliability.
