Our Rolex history
For over two centuries since the company was founded, Mappin & Webb has represented fine British craftmanship, specialising initially in silverware and expanding over the years to provide an exquisite range of jewellery and luxury watches.
Since 1775
Mappin & Webb is a true British treasure with over 240 years of tradition in the world of silver and fine jewellery. Our founder, Jonathan Mappin, had a mission to create the most beautifully crafted silverware for British society, and over the centuries we have become renowned for combining timeless craftsmanship with superior quality and contemporary design.
We have produced and sold exquisite fine jewellery, elegant silverware and luxury watches since 1775, receiving the honour of Royal Warrants and commissions from Monarchs around the world, and becoming synonymous with all things truly British.
Within our network of nationwide showrooms, our in-house experts, equipped with a wealth of knowledge and expertise, will do everything to make your visit special.
Our regal history
In 2012 we were given the great honour of being appointed the Crown Jeweller to Her Majesty the Queen, in charge of the Crown Jewels themselves. This defining moment was part of the important regal heritage of Mappin & Webb, involving numerous royal commissions and becoming official Royal Warrant holders to Her Majesty Queen Victoria in 1897, a status we have proudly held for each succeeding monarch.
Today our regal appointments include being ‘Jewellers, Goldsmiths and Silversmiths’ to His Majesty the King and ‘Silversmiths’ to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.
